About Me

Hi! My name is Kyra, and I use they/them pronouns. I am a queer, nonbinary, autistic, plus-sized scientist, roller derby blocker, and life coach. I love helping people achieve more of what they want in their lives, and I am obsessed with the amount of change we can make in our world by shifting the way we show up for ourselves. 

In my ten years with seven different therapists, I learned that my brain was messy and scarred from my childhood and society. Standard talk therapy gave me awareness of my thought patterns, but I felt stuck with them, like the goal was to accept them and live with those broken patterns forever. Then I discovered thoughtwork-based life coaching.

Now my life just keeps getting better.

In just two years of thoughtwork, I went from resignation to having an anxious and depressed brain forever to reclaiming my joy and loving my powerful, amazing brain. I also:

  • Healed my relationship with food, exercise, and my body

  • Stopped trying to control my friends and family so that I could feel okay

  • Stopped getting stuck in hatred and hopelessness about the world's rampant bigotry and late-stage capitalist landscape

  • Unworked all of those harmful beliefs about my brain and body until I realized that I was nonbinary and autistic

  • Processed how to incorporate those new identities, without taking on the baggage that comes with them

SO MUCH of my life has changed through this work that I couldn’t keep it to myself anymore. I noticed that my communities were vastly under-represented in the life coaching community (surprise surprise), so now I’m sharing these tools with my under-served beautiful community of queer and neurodivergent baddies!

About Coaching

Okay, so life coaching can get a bad rap. There’s a lot of range to what it means, and not all of it will help you in the way you want. So here’s what I mean when I call myself a life coach. 

Imagine if talk therapy gave you a set of concrete tools to practice coaching yourself every day. We can use these tools to shift your thought patterns to thoughts that will serve you more effectively. It turns out the world isn’t responsible for creating your experience… your brain is. Which is great news, because you can’t always change the world, but you CAN change how you show up in it.

I’m not in the business of serving you affirmations and manifestation energy and hoping your life will change… instead, we’re taking small neuroscience-backed steps to actually create the shifts you want in your own brain. With these principles, we can tackle all the heartache, resistance, and dissociation that exists in your brain. And we’ll find ways to bring back in joy, confidence, and ease. 

Coaching is not a magic fix-everything pill. You’re still going to have a human brain. Some days will still be hard. You’re still going to feel negative emotions. But when you change your relationships those feelings, you change the whole game. 

Investing in yourself is the most important work you can ever do in your life.
